Sunday November 1. Flying out

After all the planning, the frantic last minute organisation of storing or selling cars and campervan, the packing and re-packing, (and chucking it all on the floor and throwing half of it back in the wardrobe, and re re-packing) finally the day has come.

We trundle our bags down to the Bus Station, getting caught in a shower on the way and just make it to the bus as the driver is closing the luggage doors ready to depart at 1pm. At Heathrow terminal 5 we have three hours before the flight leaves. Checking in at the self service console we discover we are seated 10 rows apart and the plane is almost full. It takes a fair bit of fiddling and the help of an assistant to end up together at the rear of the plane. The BA flight is quite comfortable and entertainment terminals are fitted in each headrest with a wide range of films and music. Sue watches Australia, and I see Dr Parnassas. It is about a twelve hour flight to Hong Kong where we have a three night stopover.
